Scrapper in Need!!!

Lain Ehmann, one of the contributing editors for Simple Scrapbooks Magazine has an awesome opportunity posted here on her blog.

Lain's son, Ben, is an avid baseball player and his team recently was ranked as one of the top 24 teams in the nation!  They have been invited to compete in the World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports!!

Benbaseball

Now, a trip like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but unfortunately does not come without its drawbacks...they have to raise $10,000 by August 1st in order to go!

SO - Lain has a great proposal (from her blog):

So here's my brilliant idea. If you so desire, I'm inviting you to donate $5 to his team (via Paypal, cash, or check). It's 100% tax-deductible because his team is a non-profit. In return, for each $5 you donate, you will be entered in a drawing to win one of many fabulous scrapbook-related prizes... with the grand prize being:

Making memories tote

A brand-new Making Memories tote (lavender, not pink) loaded with awesome MM goodies... easily valued at over $300! (Probably more like $400 but I am in too much of a rush to add it all up). There are paper packs, rub-ons, clear transparency overlays, letter stickers, buttons, brads, tags -- you name it!

And here is the really cool part -- EVERYONE who donates will receive a prize pack from me worth AT LEAST $5. So you donate $5 tax deductible, you get a chance at winning $300 worth of product, and you are guaranteed at least $5 in goodies. What's not to love???

A few details:
-All donations must be received by 7/30 -- next Wednesday -- so I can get the prizes out before I leave for Orlando.
-Grand prize drawing will be held 7/31.
-Shipping on the grand prize is going to be a wee bit expensive -- maybe $40 via UPS? I will SPLIT the shipping cost on the tote with the winner.
-Please tell your friends! I would love to make at least $250 on this -- that means 50 donations of $5.
-You will get one entry for each $5. If you donate $10 you will get two entries and will
receive at least $10 in product.

In addition to Lain's generous prize, Go. Be Creative. has also donated an August Lavender Vanilla Kit to the cause (in addition to our monetary contribution)!  So you are entered into a drawing for that as well! If you are already a subscriber, I will be happy to provide you with a June or July kit, or even a future kit at no cost instead!

You can paypal your donation to Lain using the email address lainehmann@comcast.net, and be sure to include your mailing address so you can receive your goodies!

Lain has already raised over $500 - but that is still such a small dent - I know we can do more!

Best of luck to Ben and his team at the World Series!!

And to help him - Go. Be Generous!!

MeMe (Thanks Annette!)

1. Link to the person who tagged me. Annette
2. Mention the rules.
3. Tell six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about myself.
4. Tag 6 other bloggers linking to them.
5. Go to each person's blog and leave a comment that lets them know they've been tagged.

1. I can say the alphabet backwards (thanks to a talking doll, Cricket, that my sister had growing up) and all 50 states in alphabetical order (thanks to elementary school chorus..."Fifty Nifty United States...").

2.  I cannot stand to hear people chew.  It seriously sends shivers down my spine.  Popping gum and eating cereal are the WORST!!

3.  I am probably the only American in the world that does not like pizza!

4.  I can pick things up with my toes.

5. I hate lima beans.  I mean, I really hate lima beans.  If they're even on my plate I've completely lost my appetite.  I currently have a bag of veggies with lima beans in my freezer that Brett bought and it skeeves me out every time I open the door.

6. I have a very unhealthy, inexplainable attraction to Eddie Vedder.  Don't ask me - I have no idea.  He's not cute at all.  But I <3 him!

And I will tag: Tam, Alicia, Marie, Karen, Cheryl, and Sandy

Long time, no blog...

Yeah, yeah...I know.

What do you want from me?

GOOD NEWS: School is over!  Summer vacation, baby!
BAD NEWS: I've been so busy I haven't had a moment to breathe!

I obviously survived the end of the school year, and have barely checked my school email since. Right after school was out I went to the Cozy Crop House in Lancaster, PA with some friends for the weekend.  I was able to do a bit of scrapping (that was the last time I did!).  Among other projects, I was able to put together this BoBunny 6x6 Binder Album with the SEI Poppy Line:

Definitely one of my favorite projects.  It just came together so well!

Not long after that we headed down to Virginia to visit Brett's mom.  While we were there we took the kids to King's Dominion:

We really lucked out - it was the day before the Fourth of July, so there were very few lines!

We spent the next day at Ferry Farms (George Washington's childhood home) and Fredericksburg.  So much fun!

When we got home, I started working in high gear preparing for my sister's bridal shower.  I made the candy favors, scratch off cards to give away the centerpieces, and a set of thank you cards as one of her gifts:

The shower was this past weekend - a tremendous success!  Just three weeks until the wedding and it will all be over!

Whew!  I'm tired just typing all of this!  The good news is, I have a bit of a break before we have to go back up for the wedding...so hopefully some scrapping will be in my future!!

Oh - and Lain - I got your message from Alicia! :)
